Sandhill Crane
Sandhill cranes migrate south for the winter flying all the way from the northern most parts of Canada and Alaska. They winter in the south, primarily Texas, New Mexico, Mexico and Arizona although they are seen all throughout the south in lessor numbers. The sandhill crane is a very large bird, standing 3-4 feet, with a wingspan of 5 feet at height of maturity.
